Seriously

So it's been a while. Here is a random post.
I am going back to night shift for a while. I just am not an early morning person. I move super slowly first thing in the morning and I believe the best time of "day" is after eleven at night.

Workout wise I fell off the wagon back in July. I am just now getting back into a regular routine. I just spent an hour on the elliptical machine and my legs feel like jelly now. I got a boost from my cholesterol results that made me dance around my house. Seriously, I am such a nerd. They were a thing of beauty. It really was a great reinforcement that I am doing the right things with my diet. I just need to eat less of the good things that I am eating. So currently my BMI is 30.5. If I keep up my fitness routine and diet I am confident that I will get it down under 30 before the time I turn 31.

Off to get ready for work now. Will be better about posting hopefully.

Back on the wagon... well elliptical.

I have struggled with my weight all my life. I have had periods where I have worked really hard to lose weight and get healthy, and other periods where I just haven't cared. Recently I turned the big 3-0 and I am realizing that I cannot live the rest of my life with a BMI >30.

This year I am attempting to get healthier. Current goals are to exercise every day off four days a week. I am also attempting to start a exercise and food journal, but currently there is a half day from a week ago entered. It's a start. I believe that some long term changes are started off by small steps along the way.

So now I am of to spend my time with my good friend the elliptical machine.

Expanding my horizons.

Ok, I will admit it, I do tend to get into reading ruts. Where I will tend to read the same books over and over again. Same authors and same genres.

So here is the challenge for my friends. You can recommend new and different books for me to read. The rules because every thing has rules. 1. Don't just recommend an author, I would like to have the "ultimate" book, by this person, that you would recommend. 2. Christian fiction is completely out. That is the genre that I have exclusively read for the last year. 3. Science fiction fantasy is limited to authors I haven't read or who are not on my book case. 4. I reserve the right to reject books. If I reject yours I will ask for an alternate. 5. You can recommend non-fiction but I hardly ever read it for enjoyment.

I am trying to expand my reading selections this year. It may happen slowly mostly due to the fact I read for escape not for literary reasons.

Merry Christmas!

I have been so blessed this year. I am so glad to be with my family in Texas this year for the holidays. Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. Here is a list of my favorite things about Christmas.
1. Presents. Giving gifts to my family and friends gives me such joy.
2. Christmas Movies. They are uplifting and sappy but I love to watch them, especially A Christmas Carol, It's A Wonderful Life, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and The Santa Clause.
3. Christmas Dinner.
There are so many other things that I love.

I hope you are with loved ones this Christmas. Posted by Picasa

Left is right and Right is wrong... or is it the other way.

Frankly I am annoyed. That is the reason for this post. Typically I try to avoid having such a strong oppinionated post. Not my style but I need to vent. Some people may not like what I have to say. Too bad.

In the eternal scope of things does it matter? What are we really here for? Is it posturing and propaganda?

So here is the thing folks. I am seeing from both sides the same behaviors. The same judgemental, condescending, short sighted and overly critical behaviors. No one wants to take a step back and say, "Why does my brother believe what he believes?" No one wants to admit that the other person may have some good points.

If you want me to take any time to consider your opinion stop. Stop the propaganda. Stop tearing down your brother. Prove to me your way is better with your actions.

After all that is what The One I follow did.

My Place in This World.

Atlas has helped me to gain a world view over the last year. This helps to put things in perspective. I am tremendously fortunate.

I got this link from relevant blog.

Party time

Ever want to be someone else?
I went to a Halloween party/Suprise Birthday-Baby Shower last night.
Pictures are posted on Kelly's Blog. My friends are so creative and fun.
I was June Carter, before Johnny Cash. She was an amazing lady. It was a good excuse to watch "Walk the Line" again. It's the movie I love to watch when I need to feel inspired.
